A Lorentzian manifold is a pseudo-Riemannian manifold the metric
has one negative sign in its signature (and the remaining signs positive), in contrast to Riemannian manifolds in which the signature is entirely positive.
The model example of a Lorentzian manifold is Minkowski space.
